USING THE STROBIES XS BRACKET

lets see what Strobies can do for you.

Here we are using a combination of the Interfit Beauty dish RF5000 mounted on the Strobies XS bracket and a 20 deg Honeycomb placed on the background and a 10 deg Honeycomb placed on the hair.

The model is best placed about 1 to1.5 mtrs (3 to 4 feet) from the beauty dish or camera position.

Settings used

Manual mode 1/250 th Sec, f2.8 24-70 mm lens -0.3 compensation set in camera.


SB900 + 2 compensation flash set to Remote on XS bracket “Even distribution” with an Interfit "S" type Beauty dish (RF5000 )

20 Deg Honeycombs flash set to Remote with +1 compensation aimed at the background. This is attached to a STR117 and a COR750 light stand.

10 Deg Honeycomb flash set to Remote with -0.7 compensation on hair. This is attached to a STR117 and a COR750 light stand aimed in from the rear left hand side.

Tip use a lens hood when pointing light back towards the camera otherwise you could get lens flair on your images.

USING THE STROBIES XS Bracket & SOFTBOX KIT

Here we are using a combination of the Globe and Softbox aimed at the left hand side of the head to create a 3D image, the light falling on the background is from the Globe which is OFF CAMERA.

Settings used

Manual mode 1/250 th Sec, f2.8 24-70 mm lens +0.3 compensation

Flash on XS Bracket with softbox + 1.7 compensation
Globe on background +0.7 compensation (left hand side)

This is attached to a STR117 and a COR750 light stand

Strobies lighting Tip

The globe is located on the left hand side as it produces a light that wraps around the background and also illuminates the models hair by bouncing off a wall on the right hand side, again experiment with the EV values in this type of shot to suit you image.

Almost any "S" Type fitting accessory can be used on the XS bracket, these include:

Softboxes are best kept up to a maximum of 100cm (39") to be able to use the full power for the flashgun .

Interfit Pro softboxes with an ASA1000 Speedring (Octboxes PSOR60 / PSOR90 are ideal) (StripSLBR39 / SLBR412 / SLBR510 / SLBR612) (Square SSBR60 / SLBR80/ SLBR100 ) Rectangular RSBR685 / RSBR7510)

Beauty Dishes such as the Interfit RF5000.

Umbrellas almost any umbrella can be fitted to the mount at the bottom of the XS bracket, ideally use the supplied 7"Spill kill reflector with the XS bracket.

Honeycomb Grids AH6020 AH6030 AH6060 will all fit directly in to the Spill Kill reflector as supplied.

The Interfit RB4011 Barndoor set fits directly on to the supplied Spill Kill reflector, the AC8011 colour filters can be mounted in the RB4011 Barndoor's.

Wide and Narrow Beam Reflectors such as Interfit RF5011 / RF5010

Snoots Such as the INT209 or (RF5006 which includes a small spill kil dish)
